Our street light campaign

Essex County Councillors have been campaigning against Tory cuts to street lighting. Partnightlighting has been hugely unpopular and has led to rising concerns about public safety.

Harlow, Tendring and Colchester Councils have all budgeted for the street lights to be switched back on all night but the Tory led County Council has so far failed to switch them back on even though these local councils have agreed to pay ECC to do so. Your Labour Councillors will continue to fight for partnightlighting to be scrapped. We even took the campaign to parliament but so far our pleas are falling on deaf ears.
